VANESSA P.O.V
'Damn! I knew a day like this would come. Shit! "
Rachael quickly removed a gun from her pants, I locked at her mortified and she held my hand dragging me to her room.
'Rachael what's happening?" I whispered. She was still holding my hand leading me to her walk-in closet.
"I can't answer now, but we need to leave now. Don't worry you will be fine if you follow me," she whispered back. She opened a closet where her dresses were hanging, she started fumbling with the wall and I looked at her like she was crazy.
'Racheal, why are you doing that? We need to leave," I whispered.
"Don't worry, I know that, and that's what I'm doing," she said, smiling to calm my nerves.
'Close the door," she added, and I went over to pull the door shut when a bullet grazed my right shoulder, I groaned closing the door, and Racheal was looking very sorry.
'I'm sorry, I shouldn't have sent you, come in," she said as I noticed the wall was now opened.
'Stop looking in fascination, you are hurt and you shouldn't be getting fascinated. Come on in," she said and she helped me into the hideout before coming in and pushed the wall, then it got shut.
'Come on, we need to go down and not stay here."
"But I am losing too much blood already, and I'm getting dizzy. Can I rest?" I pleaded as I dropped down on the floor.
"No, Rhea, we can't. If we stay one minute more we would get killed. Don't worry I will help you," Rachael said hurriedly and she helped me up.
She tapped the floor, a section of it opened, she helped me in and stayed up.
'Come on, Racheal." I panicked.
"We have to wait a little for Hilda, she would be…" the stone door opened and Hilda came in.
"I'm sorry for taking so much time, I was looking for you both until I remembered you should be here," she apologized, and went down the hole. Racheal tapped a spot and the hole started closing up, and she dived in before it did. I breathed out in relief.
'Hilda turned on the light switch, it's too dark in here," Racheal said, Hilda went a bit forward and the light came on making me squint my eyes to get used to the brightness.
When my eyesight got accustomed to the light, I looked around and I was surprised to see that it was like a mansion but underground and more beautiful than the house upstairs.
'Wow, Racheal, so somewhere like this exists and I haven't been brought down here?" I asked as I was marveled by the elegance of the building. A sharp pain ran across my arms and I groaned, attracting their attention.
'Shit, I forgot. Hilda get the first aid box and anesthesia," she said as she made me sit and tore my shirt. I wanted to grumble but a glare from her zipped my lips.
Racheal started cleaning my wound with a disinfectant and I groaned biting into a towel to avoid screaming. I lost so much blood and my skin was becoming pale and I was getting more dizzy.
'Sorry, Rhea," Hilda said, but Racheal wasn't saying anything as she continued treating my injury wrapping my arm with a bandage.
Soon she finished and a tear dropped on my hand. I looked up and she was crying.
'Why are you crying?" I asked, peering into her face. She cleaned her eyes immediately.
'I'm not," she denied. I smiled and hugged her.
"I will be fine, don't worry," I said and she nodded.
'So we are supposed to stay here till Adam comes back and make sure everything is alright. But, Rhea is losing too much blood and there's no blood in…" She got interrupted by the creaking of a cart.
'You seem to be forgetting that I'm a nurse, Rhea, you will be alright. Don't worry," Hilda said as she began removing the contents of the cart. She pulled a blood bag stand, hooking a pound of blood and she inserted the catheter. Soon the blood was entering my body through the vein. I was feeling sleepy but Hilda said I should hold it for a little longer.
'Thank you for saving my life," I said, and they smiled, Racheal holding my right hand.
'When would Adam come down here?" I asked.
'Once he's done attending to the uproar outside, he will surely come for us here." Racheal replied.
'So we can't leave here except he tap that spot you tapped right?" I asked curiously.
' Yes," Racheal responded, nodding.
'Oh! So if he doesn't come in one week. How would we survive here?"
'Rhea, before we created here, we had thoughts like these, so we created it in the way that this underground house is another house with a ground and we have a garden with things that can last ten people for their whole lifetime."
"Oh, really? But how will we stay here for that long?"
"We are not staying here that long, Adam will be back! ' She snapped. I deserved that, I was being pessimistic while she was trying to be optimistic.
'I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said those things. I was just worried."
"It's fine, I'm sorry for snapping at you too. I'm just hoping for him to come back safely."
'I understand the feeling. So if I may ask who are those guys?" Rachael's face turned from sweet to angry.
"I'm sorry for asking, you don't have to answer," I apologized immediately.
'No, don't apologize Rhea, I'm not angry with you, rather I got annoyed because of those pieces of trash my father is sending."
'Your father wants to kill you?"
'Not me, but Adam, and he would take me back if he finds me, and I don't want that."
'Oh, I'm so sorry?" I said, trying to soothe her shoulders but she moved back and held my hands.
'No, Rhea, don't stress yourself, you shouldn't waste your much needed strength. I'm used to it."
