Adam looked at us with suspicion in his eyes, I bent my head to avoid his gaze, he sat down at the head of the dining table. I was feeling hot already but I was hungry so I had to wait.

'How are you doing Babe? Hope the cold weather isn't affecting you that much?" He asked, touching her neck and face and inspecting her face.

'I'm fine. Thank you," she replied smiling.

'Where is the food? What is taking Hilda so long." He began complaining, I rolled my eyes at Adam.

'I will go and check on her," Racheal said, as she got up. I stood up faster.

"Don't worry, I will go and check on her. Sit and relax," I said, and rushed to the kitchen.

I went into the kitchen and I saw Hilda sitting on the floor crying with blood all over the kitchen floor. I stopped at the door holding my chest with my hand as I began to move closer to her.

Immediately she noticed me, she stood up and hid her hand behind her back.

'Sorry, Miss Rhea, I will bring dinner soon. I got involved in a kitchen accident," she explained, smiling sadly.

'What happened to you? Hilda What's wrong with you? " I tried to come close to her but she moved back.

"I was killing the chicken for dinner and the knife cut through my hand, that's why there's blood all over the floor." I didn't believe that but I held my tongue .

'It's fine. I will help you fry the chicken. Have you finished cooking the other meal?" I said, moving to the gas cooker to help her fry the chicken.

'No, don't bother yourself Miss Rhea, you can go back, I will do that," she said, trying to collect the spatula from me. I drew it back and frowned.

'No Hilda, I will do it. Go and get your wound treated and don't argue, you need rest," I said sternly to make her do it. She smiled, and thanked me before leaving.

I fried the chicken and dished it into a glass bowl, I went out to set the table.

'Why are you cooking all of a sudden? What happened to Hilda?" Racheal asked, looking at me amusingly.

"Hilda has an injury, so I volunteered to help her finish cooking, don't get annoyed with her," I said not to her because I know she wouldn't get annoyed but to Adam who was always getting annoyed.

'I am not angry, I was just surprised. Why would you think such?" She asked, faking pain.

"Racheal, you are being very dramatic and funny. I will go bring the rest of the dishes Hilda prepared," I said, mostly to the angry bird close to Racheal. He rolled his eyes, I scoffed before heading back to the kitchen.

After I finished serving the meal, we started eating before Adam dropped the chicken and his face was scrunched in lines of anger.

'Who fried this chicken?" He asked as if he didn't know I was the one. Time for his complain.

'I did, what's wrong with it?" I answered boldly because he was already getting on my nerves.

'And why would you fry something like this? Didn't you notice it's tasteless? Why can't you do anything right," he said, and I got very annoyed.

"But what's wrong with the chicken Adam? It's actually better than the ones Hilda usually prepared for us. Stop making Rhea feel bad always. Here I am trying to make her feel more relaxed," Racheal said angrily. Adam rolled his eyes and I was ready to tell him a piece of my mind. I don't care what the outcome would be.

'Racheal stop supporting her, you always do this," Adam said, slamming his fist into the table.

I stood up and he was looking at me like I had grown wings. I took my food and went to my room, dropping it and some drinks and snacks I got from the snack closet. I dropped them on my table and went back to the dining room munching a piece of chicken I was eating.

'Didn't you hear what I said? Why did you prepare something like this?" He asked again, and I stood up slowly.

" Adam, you are really trying to get my reaction, you and I know there's nothing wrong with the chicken you are eating and you just like making me feel worthless."

'If you are smart as you claimed to be, then you should have gone to the Blood Moon pack and get the scroll you desperately need yourself."

'But no, almighty Adam and I are in the same category because we can't do it at the same time. I'm still here to avenge my parents' death, and most importantly because of Racheal," I said, and walked away rudely making the chair I was sitting fall back.

'How dare you talk to me in such a manner? Have you gone mad!" I ignored him as I rushed to my room and slammed it while making sure I locked it properly.

'Rhea, open the door now before I break it down," he said, banging my door, I sat down at the table and continued munching the chicken and savoring the sweet taste.

'Damm!! I should have been a chef." I praised myself as Adam kept banging the door.

"Adam stop this, you are creating a scene, and besides you know she's right. You are really overreacting and you know it wasn't her fault that she fell in love with him. Love is the most fierce emotion, and one can control it." She screamed and I could hear the sound of her feet moving away from my door.

" Babe, I'm sorry," Adam called out while following her. I only felt bad because my actions made Racheal feel bad.

Well, at least almighty Adam is annoyed and I feel very good and pleased with myself. I smiled as I continued munching and drinking the orange juice I brought inside my room.

'Arghhh!" A voice screamed and I jumped.
