AXEL P.O.V

I was lying down on my bed when I felt a sharp pain run across my heart. Kael was doing something to Vanessa. I can feel it. I sprang up and gulped down a bottle of water to ease the scorching. It was all my fault, I shouldn't have let her go when I was supposed to be there and let her explain.

Thinking of it, now I understand why Vanessa was hesitant when I began going close to her. She was avoiding me then because she knew a human and a werewolf have nothing in common with each other. I pushed her into something she didn't understand and I left her at the middle of it. I went to my office and pulled a whip, going into the room I intended to use as a pleasure room for Vanessa. I sat down on a chair and started whipping myself.

'You are worse than a monster," I said with each whip I gave myself to make me feel less worse.

'You don't deserve Vanessa. No one not even a monster will ever chase away their mate," I groaned and whipped myself mercilessly.

When I had inflicted lots of injuries on myself, I stopped and went out of the room. I was stunned when I saw Damian looking at me horrified, I sneered and continued walking to my room.

'Axel what have you done to yourself? Inflicting physical pain on your body won't stop the emotional pain you are still going through," he said.

He's right, but I felt a little better than before, and I was sure the pain will come surging back.

'Stop telling me what to do, if you want me to stop injuring myself then help me find Vanessa and I will give you anything you want even if it's the throne," I said truthfully.

"I don't need the throne, Axel, and you know that, I want my friend and Alpha that would always think things through before acting. The one who would never jump into conclusion." "That's the only thing I need, well and a bottle of wine," he added jokily, I chuckled.

'Stop sulking and start finding clues that would help you find your mate and our luna back so that you will have your peace." I nodded and went into my room to freshen up.

Heading down to my office to finish my work that I have been ignoring all these while, but there was no files piling up. I was confused. I called one of the guard and Evan ran in.

'Your highness you called," he said bowing down.

"Yes, what happened to all the files I left on my table?" I asked.

"Your highness, Beta Damian attended to them while you were away he said you weren't feeling too well," he replied.

"Oh leave." He left and I was thanking him mentally for doing that much work, and still keeping my image upright in front of my pack. I picked up my phone and sent something to him.

Few minutes later, he came to my office knocking and I asked him to open the door.

'You sent a million dollars to my account, what do you want me to do for you? Is it for charity?" He asked, and I smiled. Such sincerity is indeed hard to find.

"No, it's for you. Thank you for doing all the work and reputation," I said and he looked at me shocked.

"But you shouldn't do that, you have already increased my pay and allowances. You gave me a raise last month and now you are giving me such an amount of money. It's too much." I knew he would object so I went for plan B.

"It's an order Damian, you can give it to your mate or the poor if she's afraid to take the money," I said shutting up any arguments he was conjuring in his head.

"Thank you so much Axel, I promise to be more efficient in my duty."

"You already are. Now take a day off and have a good time with Avery. Not all of us have the chance to be with our mates now," I said sadly.

"Don't worry, you will find her and I know she would forgive you. Vanessa is a good woman that all the pack's members loved passionately." He said and started leaving when he stopped and turned around, I looked up at him.

"What's wrong?" I asked looking at him confusedly.

'I have an idea, why don't you put a bounty on her. Tell the pack that whosoever finds her would be given a large sum of money and the opportunity to stay in the palace for a week as the golden prize," he suggested and I found the idea attractive. It would surely make everyone in the pack more anxious to find her. But I remembered that even my enemies might find her, so they can get at me so I was confused on what to do.

'That's a wonderful idea, but what if any of my foes get to her first. They might hurt her before I find her," I groaned, every solution seems to be surrounded by thorns around it.

'I thought of that immediately I came up with that idea, it's also a good thing if they find her. You know why?" He paused to get all my attention.

"Why Damian? Go on," I said, eagerly.

"If they find her, then they will tell you so you can adhere to their demands and they wont be far from the pack surroundings. In that way you can feel her, when we get closer to them, then we can find her through her scent. It's as easy as that," he said, and I was amazed at his idea.

'Why didn't I think of that all this while?" I asked smiling.

"Because you were busy drinking dangerous alcoholic drinks that was making you aggressive instead of smart. I told you to stop though."

'Not my fault, I was hurt and I am still hurt but it is reducing with the idea of me finding Vanessa back," I said, happily.

I will finally have her in my arms after making her forgive me for my stupid acts.
