AXEL P.O.V

Sitting at the river bank talking to my bodyguard who was surprisingly smarter than he looked, although he still behaves weird. But I don't know why, I find him very familiar.


"She will, don't worry," Gabriel replied.

'I hope so. Because I wouldn't be able to cope with the fact that I would never see or hold her again in my arms." Gabriel looked at me smiling and I shook my head at his childish behavior. Maybe he is behaving like this because of the effect of his mate's rejection.

'But if she apologizes and come back to you, will you accept her back? 'I couldn't help but ask him because I wanted to know his opinion because if it was Vanessa, I would accept her back no matter what she did.


"Yes, I will with both of my arms, but I'm sure she wouldn't because the rejection was so evident in her eyes when she rejected me without looking back or feeling sorry. Maybe It's because I'm not that good looking or rich, but I was sure I would have done everything in my power to make her happy and comfortable," he said, looking away.

"Don't worry, everything will turn well. But we have to head back to the palace so we can have some sleep, it's almost morning." I said, standing up. Gabriel followed me at my back and we went back.


'You haven't explained what you are doing outside by this time, Shouldn't you sleeping by this time?"

'I was meditating," he replied and I nodded.

'And how's your mother faring?"

'She's getting better, thank you so much, Your highness," he said, bowing in gratitude.

"It's fine." I replied, smiling as we continued walking on.

We got back to the palace and I went into the Royal house and he went to his base. I felt better talking to someone else that gave me hope in a new form."

" Your highness, where have you been? I have been waiting for you for hours," Emily said the moment I opened my room's door. I groaned and Lucian was fuming at her presence.

"Chase her away, I don't want to see her because I feel like tearing her into two," he growled.

"Gladly." I smiled mischievously, and she mistook it for an acceptance and she began coming closer swaying her hips.

'I don't know why you have been avoiding me when I can make you feel so much better. I can take you to heaven and back."

'Oh really?" If only she knew how disgusted her makeup plastered face and her body that made me even more disgusted,

'Yes, Your highness, if only you will let me show you what I can do. I bet you will come back for more like you always do," she said, smiling seductively as she was stripping slowly trying to tease me but I wasn't even feeling anything neither was Lucian. Infact he wanted to snap her into two.

' You are right tho."

"Yes, Your highness. Thank you, and now I will do all I can to make you happy, and forget your betrayal of a mate." And that broke the last restrain in me. I held myself, she was already naked now, and coming closer to me.

Immediately she made to touch me, I held her by her neck strangling her and she began fighting for air.

'I will warn you for the last time, don't come to my room because you aren't needed, don't touch me unless you don't find your hands useful to you anymore, and lastly get lost before I kill you with my bare hands," I said, tossing her to the wall and she groaned in pain looking at me with fear and surprise.

'Are you still there? Seems you are desperately waiting for your death?" I turned walking towards her. She gasped and ran out of my room as fast as she could. I smiled to myself contently.

I went into the shower to refresh myself after the time in the dirty floors of the forest. After taking my bath, I went out to the balcony looking at the sky, remembering the last time I came here was with Vanessa and she had told me she loved moonlights. I smiled looking at the Moonlight basking in the memory she had beneath it here.

The next morning I woke up quite early going into the bathroom to freshen up, going out of my room.

'Good morning, Your highness," Gabriel greeted, and I nodded walking off to my study and Damian walked in.

'Good morning, Your highness," he greeted, looking dejected. I looked at him, worried to see Damian in that form.

'What happened? Why are you looking like this?"

"We lost the baby." And he plopped down on a seat sobbing. I stood up and walked over to him, patting him on the shoulder.

'I'm sorry for your loss, you didn't deserve something like this. How is she taking it?"

'Worse, she has refused to eat anything since last night," he said, covering his face with his palms.

'I'm so sorry Damian. Take a week off so she can have someone to help her through, I'm sure you will brave up as a man but she needs someone to hold onto."

'You will give me a week off?" I nodded going back to my chair.

'Thank you so much. I wanted to ask for a day off but you really helped me a lot. Thank you very much."

'That's the least I could do. Go back to her." He nodded and turned to leave.

'Axel, this new you is more better, and I'm sure you will be a better mate and a father once you find her." He smiled and I smiled back. He left the room.

I felt better hearing another person call me a better person, it made me feel I was getting better to deserve Vanessa. I know her real name is Rhea but I forget sometimes.

But one thing was sure, if I find her, I'll never let her go come any circumstances.
