'So are you going to keep her here while she's pregnant ? Or will you take her out?" I asked Azra, and he smiled.





' I can't quit. The stress is going to be too much as a family man and I want to have time for my family. But I need the work to be able to cater for us as I don't want Amara to work and stress herself," he said, arranging his bed. I was sitting in my bed, lost in thought as to where I would go and find the scroll. One thing was sure, it was not in the libraries or Axel's office.





'I heard some maids talking about a scroll, what's that?" I lied, to see if I could get any information from him.




" A scroll, you say?? Ummm it is a scroll that contains all the pack's secrets, including how to be able to kill the Alpha. I have heard about the scroll, but I don't know where the scroll is, but I heard it in the palace locs."




' Locs? What's that?" I asked him. I have never heard of locs before.




'That's where the most valuable treasures in the palace are kept. I heard that only the Alpha has the pin to it."




'Oh, where is it?"




' I don't know, but it should be in his room, my thoughts though. Why are you asking all that? Hope you aren't going to steal the scroll.

Some people have been killed because they tried to steal from it though the location wasn't disclosed. And I don't seem to understand why someone would want to kill the Alpha when he's actually the best Alpha this pack has come across," he said, shaking his head.




' Why would I want to steal the scroll? I was curious because of what I heard from the maids."




'Okay, sure. I'm leaving. I have been given a task to teach the new guards the rules and regulations of the Palace," he said, grinning.




'Why are you so happy about it? It's not like you are getting an extra pay for it?" I asked, looking at him quizzically.




' I am, I'm getting money for it, actually. And additionally, I will be their leader, with my salary raised and more bonuses.




I decided to take a nap.




Waking up before dawn the next morning, I decided to go in search for the scroll myself. I decided to check in the most common place.




Running to his office, dodging the palace guards who were observing the hallway, I was breathing very fast as I didn't want to be caught by them and face questions I wouldn't be able to answer.




When they walked down the hallway, I rushed to the office and shut the door behind me.




I began searching in his office quickly. I looked all around his office, but I couldn't find any trace of the scroll.




Where did he keep it? I was getting more frustrated, and I decided to leave as the day was beginning to break. On my way out, I remembered that Kiara said it was in a room filled with knowledge and, from what I could see, there was no knowledge there.




I decided to go to his study. On my way there, I met Octavia coming out of a room, and she was shocked when she saw me.




'Good morning, Lady Octavia," I greeted her, hoping she wouldn't ask me many questions.




'Good morning, Gabriel, what are you doing here this early?" She asked, looking at the clock.




'It's 3 am!" She exclaimed. I looked at the clock too before looking back at her confusedly.




' I came to … I came..." the door she came out from opened and a mam popped his head out.




'Love, I thought you said you wanted to go and check some noise you heard, what are you doing standing there? Come in," he said, oblivious of my presence.




Octavia groaned, looking at me, and the man followed her gaze, and he looked at her shocked. I lowered my head trying to remember where I had seen him, then it came to my head…. He was a palace guard.




'Umm. I will be inside," he said, looking at me awkwardly.




'Please don't tell anybody about this, I will pay you any amount you ask for. Please, I don't want to be disgraced," she pleaded.




'Don't worry, I won't tell anybody if you promise not to tell that you saw me this night."




'I won't. We have a deal then?" She asked, looking at my face.




'Yes, we do," I replied, smiling at her.




'Thank you very much. How much do you want?"




'Don't worry about the money, I won't tell anyone about it, and you don't have to pay me."




'Thank you, Gabriel, you are a good man," she said, smiling as she went back to the room.




I rushed to his study, pushing his table, and I saw a compartment and I smiled to myself. It seemed like I had gotten the scroll, pushing it, and I was asked to input a pin.




'What would his pin be? ' I asked myself, trying his birthdate, but it didn't work, his number's last four digits, his Alpha's anniversary, but nothing was working.




I stood down on the floor frustrated. I decided to try again, trying my birthdate and it opened.




How ? So he used my birthdate as his pin. My heart melted. That means he had put the scroll recently, but when?




I tried to take the scroll out, but something was stopping me from touching it. I was confused, and I bent low trying to peer into the locs to see if I could see what was stopping me.




I bent to try to bring it out again, but a sharp lightning-like light sprang out, and I felt something surging in me and I screamed out very loudly in pain. Falling to the floor, I heard voices in my head and could feel myself merging into two.




I slipped into unconsciousness hearing Axel's voice as I closed my eyes.
