"Good morning wife". He whispered in her ear. She lazily stretched out her hands, but her body had no strength to get up or even reply to him.

"Hmm". She could only hum.


He tapped her nose, "get up and have breakfast".

"I don't want to right now". She denied.

Noah was already dressed up in a grey slim fitted dress, he glanced at his wrist watch and it was indicating that he is getting late from office.


Noah ran his fingers in her hair, "Okay eat later, you don't have to come to office today. Have a rest".

She again lazily replied, "Have a good day".


He kissed her forehead before leaving her.

His day at the office was hectic, but the glow on his face cannot be ignored by anyone.

Carissa woke up and it was already noon. Her body was still aching but after taking a shower she felt better. Carissa was going to have something to eat when he called her.

A beautiful smile appeared on her face when she saw Panther on the blinking screen. "Hey Panther". She spoke cheerfully.

He was also in a good mood. "What's up?" he asked.

"I just woke up". She sounded casual.

"Let's have dinner together". Noah suggested.

"Okay…" Carissa thought of something, "Actually I have to go to my father's house. You know now I have to permanently live with you and there are some important things that I left there". Her documents, some shares and some of her mother's belongings were there. There was no use going there anymore. It was like she was burning all the boats and welcoming a new life.

"I will take you". On the other hand he really does not want her to go there alone. He has already seen the true colors of her family and there was no way he would let his lovely wife suffer.

"Its okay. You already have a lot on your plate. I don't want to disturb you so that you won't think of me as a burden".

The smile on his face vanished. How he was going to tell her she is no burden to him, in fact he wants her to create trouble but it should not involve risking her life and anything that is dangerous for her, then he doesn't mind helping her and carrying the burden of her troubles. They are like a piece of cake for him. Then why is she calling herself a trouble? Does she know how important she is for him?

"Next time I don't want to hear such a thing again". He scolded her.

Carissa bit her lower lip, he was angry at her and she hates this most. But his mood swings were not something she can handle easily. "I am sorry…" she said in a very low voice.

"Its good if you know". But his mood was already spoiled.

Carissa thought of a way to cajole her husband, "You should know the reason before getting angry."

"and what is your reason?" he wanted to know what was going on in her mind.

"I am saying this because you must be tired after working for a whole day, and then we will go to my house, there will be no time left for us to spend together". She was sugar coating everything to make him feel better.

And on the other end of the receiver it really worked. His mood was suddenly lifted up when he got to know that his wife wants to spend time with him. Of course he was going to let her do what she wants.

"Really.. then you can go there". He gave her permission. Carissa does not want to take him there as they will try to ask him different things and can spread rumors about them too. It does not affect her but it can have a very bad impact on his image. Working with him has taught her how to behave when she is with him. Even a little gesture can lead to rumors and eventually it can affect the stock prices leading to a huge loss, which she really does not want him to face. He works without caring whether it is day or night then how she can let anything related to her affect his hard work.

And the other reason was Jia, how she behaved last time, now when she thinks about it Carissa is even surprised at herself  how she manages to control her anger. If Noah did not take action, she must have killed one of them now.

"Thank you so much Panther. I will be waiting for you in the evening".

"Okay. Take care."

Carissa hurriedly ate what was given to her and dressed up into a casual pair of jeans and Shirt with a long trench coat.

She went alone to Zak's residence as she does not want them to get to know about her marriage with Noah.

Carissa quietly went to her room, without making any noise and gaining attention. She was filling the box with her pictures, her documents and some of her valuables were also there. They were left by her mother and there was no way that she was going to hand them over to those evil people here.

But before she could leave quietly the door of the room slammed open leaving her stunned. Carissa cursed in her heart because things didn't go as she planned.
