Chapter 65 Party.
In the evening, Carissa finally got up from the bed and with swollen eyes she took a shower and slipped into a white knee length dress. "I look horrible". She complained while looking at her own reflection. The dress was embroidered with stones that were shining like diamonds. She did heavy makeup to hide the signs of sleeplessness from last night. Her smoky eyes were perfect with her white dress. This bold look was perfect for her image too. Carissa was almost ready.
The lock of the door clicked and his tall figure came in her sight. She was looking stunning. He was surprised to see her being all dressed up. His pupil shifted a little but his face remained the same…. EXPRESSIONLESS. Her shoulder length hair were grown up and they were perfectly covering the deep revealing part on the back of her dress.
"Hi". She tried to start a conversation with him.
"Hello". He replied while taking off his shoes and then loosened his neck tie.
Carissa wore matching heels that were making her look more exquisite. The white color and shining diamonds were making her appear to be more fair and she looked like a doll made up of crystal.
He also found her very beautiful. If she is going to a party like this then those spoiled rich brats will sure hit on her. That thought made him feel worse. If he will claim her his in front of everyone then they will not even dare to look at her. This spread the bitterness more.
He ignored everything and went to change his own clothes. He wore a black formal tuxedo looking more glamorous. He combed his hair back, revealing his perfect forehead.
It was already time for them to leave. It took him exactly 10 minutes to get ready. She glanced at him as the atmosphere was getting more awkward and heavy.
"I am leaving. The car is waiting for you". He informed her.
He was talking all formal making her eyes teary once again. Just why the hell he is not giving her a chance to speak? She was getting frustrated.
He left her alone. She followed him from behind and walked in faster steps than him, leaving him behind and sat in the car.
He narrowed his eyes at her but went on his own way.
Carissa first went to pick Celeste. She came wearing a grey dress that was reaching till her ankles. It was fitting her perfectly and only revealing her arms, as it was sleeveless. Her make up was light and she wore block heels. She was looking perfect too.
Celeste was more curious about her in-laws. As soon as she stepped in the car she attacked Carissa, "Now immediately spill the beans. What is going on with you? Just what are you up to? I am telling you I am not going to save you this time…." She was warning her
"Can you listen to me first?" she glared at the over chattering Celeste.
Why is no one listening to her today?
"Okay. Tell me".
"I am married to Noah. We are going to the anniversary of his parents. Our wedding is a secret. Except from his family and you no one is aware".
"Oh thanks goodness you are married to him. I was worried about what kind of a man your husband would be". She gave a sigh of massive relief.
"You are not worried about him?" Carissa asked with curiosity.
Celeste has a very good impression of Noah. She only met him at the restaurant but he helped her because she is the friend of Carissa. That means he cares about her and she holds a special place in his heart. Otherwise why would such a mighty man try to bother helping her? It was his restaurant but he defended her in front of his childhood friend.
Then, he helped her in resolving the case of Ian which made her believe stronger that he is a good person. He will treasure her always. He is a responsible man of course he will not let her suffer.
"No. He is a good person". Celeste commented.
"Are you really sure about him? Or are you taking his side because he helped you in the past?" Carissa wanted to know the real reason for Celeste's admiration.
"This too…. But Carissa I have seen the world. I have seen the true colors of the people. In fact I have been watching those changing colors since I was young. Now, I have become so experienced that in a single glance I can see what kind of another person is. He helped me because of you. This means you are precious to him." Celeste tried to put some sense in her.
Carissa was thinking seriously about this matter. She is really hurting him, she has realized this now.
She was still in her thoughts, Celeste snapped her fingers. "Lady, wake up". The car was already standing at the door.
Carissa took a deep breath and opened the door. "Let's go".
Both the girls went inside. But they did not have any invitation. The guard stopped them, "You cannot enter without an invitation card."
"Hey call Mr. President". Celeste immediately said to Carissa. Noah is not even talking to her, how can she call him? On the other hand, he knows she is coming then he should have told the people beforehand.
Carissa was contemplating whether to call him or not.
"Hi, Carissa". A feminine voice came from behind.
Carissa saw Hani. She was dressed in a black long dress, with her twins. They were looking cuter than ever.
"Hi. How are you?" Carissa greeted her warmly.
"Fine. Why are you standing here?" Hani asked her.
"I do not have an invitation". Carissa replied while pouting. It was embarrassing too. Because she is the daughter in law and part of this family and in order to attend the family events she doesn't need to fulfil such formalities. But she was helpless as she had brought this upon herself.
Hani laughed at her cute reaction. At the moment Zain also came. He glanced at the ladies. "What's wrong?" he asked Hani.
"Carissa does not have an invitation". Zain wanted to laugh but he suppressed it and looked coldly at the guard. At the moment, he looked exactly at the xerox copy of Noah, "They are with me".
The guard instantly bowed to apologize and let them in.
Her eyes were trying to find him as soon as she went inside.
He was standing with guests. His face was colder than usual because his mood was at its worst. Noah was not talking at all and from his expression it was obvious that he is getting bored.
"Finally, you came". Esme cheerful voice jolted her.
Noah also shifted his eyes to see her. "Congratulations" said Carissa but Esme looked at her with an raised eyebrow. Carissa could understand what she wanted to hear next, "Mom". Her voice was like a whisper.
