Meanwhile, Jia entered her home. The terrifying and feelings of uneasiness surrounded her from all sides. She had just ignored Carissa and left her in a vulnerable state but she worried if her injuries were severe there is no way she can get her way out easily. Due to anxiety she started to bite her nails.

Mrs. Zak came into the scene out of nowhere and saw her daughter. The tiny droplets of anxiety were clearly visible on her daughter's forehead. Mrs. Zak


couldn't stop herself from asking, "Why are you looking so worried? What happened?" Jia's face looked so horrible that for a moment Mrs. Zak could not recognize her.

Jia looked at her mother like she had seen a savior. Her eyes beamed with glimmer as a ray of hope shunned brightly, "Mom I did not mean to harm her, I just pushed her a little, she fell on her own". she spoke with crocodile tears in her eyes. She was giving justification instead of telling what had really happened.  

Her mother started to get anxious too. It was an ominous feeling. Something terribly wrong has happened and the cause is her precious daughter. Now, all she has to do is to clear the mess for her so that she can create more trouble in the future. But little do they know, this might be the last time. Because their opponent is not someone they can bully. He is the DOM, a dom who makes the world dance on his fingertips. Who is capable of protecting what is precious and valuable to him, "What are you talking about? Whom did you push?" she asked with uncertainty even though deep in her heart she knew about whom, Jia is talking about.


"Carissa….." and as soon as Jia took her name the feelings of regret and remorse faded away and the bitterness took over the whole mouth.

"That bitch was talking back to me. I just could not control my temper and pushed her. She fell and got injured". Jia told her mother about the main details of the incident.


"Don't worry about that. I will take care of this matter". Mrs. Zak assured her daughter. It was always like this that her children would cause trouble outside and she would defend them whether they were wrong. This matter involves Carissa of course she was going to help her lovely daughter. She was confident that they will be able to get rid of her this time too. As Carissa is not a difficult target for them.

Mrs. Zak spoke once again, "Just make sure…. Make sure your dad doesn't get to know. These days he is taking her side a lot. I don't know what kind of spell she has cast on him. I am afraid things will slip out of our hands." so, there is something which makes this mother daughter duo afraid.

"Okay. I will not say anything". Jia became relaxed after hearing the affirmative words of her mother. She believed that her mother would take care of the matter well. But they are wrong this time their opponent is not Carissa but Noah. How dare they touch her most precious thing? They should know their place and they should know clearly who the opponent is.

At the hospital,

"What do you plan to do, now?" Edwin asked Noah. Celeste was also curious. Their eyes were glued to him. Noah clenched his teeth as a result a muscle twitches on his face. He slightly raised his eyebrow and an evil plan was running through his mind, "Play with them".

Both Celeste and Edwin were confused. What nonsense is he spouting now?

"I don't want to do anything right now that will alert them. Carissa is working at Zak real estate for two reasons. One is, she wants to take what is hers, while the other is the case of her mother." he explained. But they were not able to grasp the main theme.

"I understand what you are thinking but they will continue to target her". Celeste was worried about her friend. What happened today can happen in the future too, or even something worse.

"I will publicize our marriage. That way they will not be able to do anything". Going public is the best option. Not a single person will be able to touch a strand of her hair. The fear that is gripping him from all sides will no more there. At least, these flies will be far from her.

"That's fine then." Edwin agreed and he gave a massive sigh of relief. "What is it about her mother's case?" Edwin suddenly asked, gaining their attention. No one knows about this even Celeste. Her eyes followed Edwin then they landed on Noah for an answer.

"Her murder". Noah's two words struck the two people like lightning. They were tongue tied and the words were not coming out of their mouths as they wanted.

"What the hell". Edwin cursed under his breath.

Celeste looked at them with her mouth wide open. Her jaws were reaching to the ground. She thought she knew Carissa well but no, there are a lot of dark secrets, her dark past, that she never gets rid off. It is a part of her life, a part of her.

"I have hired people to look into this matter but it happened 22 years ago. Even if we find something it will have no legal credibility. That's why I am reluctant to do anything right now that can alert them." Noah had his own reasons for laying down.

Now they completely understood his point of view and nodded with affirmation.

The doctors shifted Carissa to the VIP ward. She was under anaesthesia, Noah looked at her pale face, his heart ached. If she is suffering so much right now then in the past, when she used to live with them, how much she must have endured. He does not want to think about it and on the other hand he wants to carry all the pain and misery in her place. No matter what, he can bear anything but he cannot let her go through all this. His blood was boiling just at the thought of it.

He was patiently waiting for her to wake up. The night passed and she was still not waking up. Her head was covered with bandages, and there were many scars on her body. The time passed like an eternity. Every passing minute and even second was making him anxious.

After 10 hours, she finally opened her eyes. Her vision was blurry and she felt her eyelids so heavy that it was getting hard for her to keep them open. She opened them with a lot of difficulty and saw his worried and anxious face.

"Are you okay?" That was the first thing he asked.

Even a single glimpse of his face was enough to make her realize through what he has gone through. Her heart ached for him. She tried to hold his hand with the weak palm, but that was a hard task. Noah immediately took her hand in his and kissed it gently. "You f*ckingly scared me". He could not help himself.

"So, you are scared too". That was a new discovery for her. She smiled unconsciously. It was a new feeling that someone is waiting for you and now she has to take care of herself. This will make her more careful in the future. She loves herself more. That is a great improvement. "Don't do that again". He warned her again.
