A week passed by since Carissa got injured. At night she was standing in front of a mirror examining the scar on her forehead. The stitches there were so obvious and the scar was visible too. She frowned and her face dropped.

Noah entered the room and saw her all sad. Her shoulders were dropped. The doctors did their best so the scar would not be too visible but it went in vain.


She turned towards him, "I look disgusting, right? What should I do? It is such a big scar". She pouted. Her eyes were getting filled with moisture too.

Noah hated that look on her face. He really does not like her getting all sad. Her fun personality is her charm. He hugged her from her waist and put his head on her shoulder. He looked in her eyes through  the mirror. "So what?" He asked like it does not matter and it is not a big deal.

Carissa was surprised to see his reaction. She was upset due to him. All she has is a pretty face and now it is not pretty anymore. What if he will really throw her out like a used tissue paper? As everyone said to her. No, no she shook her head a little to get rid of this horrible thought and shrugged. "Don't you despise it?" She asked carefully, locking her eyes with him in the mirror .


Noah frowned. Why is she thinking so much? He loves her and that's it. What's the use of growing these insecurities? "Why should I? It is just a scar, but you are the same person. This scar cannot change you. It is you whom I love". Noah made himself clear,  he paused to speak again, "I don't mind it at all". This time his words were clear too. He is always touching. Playing with the strings of her heart. That's why she can't help  but fall for him deeper and deeper. Even deep in the pits where it is difficult and even impossible to get out. It was the best decision to marry him and she has no regrets.

But still she does not like it. This scar will always make her remember those people whom she does not want to remember. It is a horrible memory.


"I don't like it". She openly spoke about her opinion, grabbing his attention.

Noah exhaled a fair amount of air, "Okay, if you don't like it you can get it treated." That was an only option and he is always supportive to her. If she doesn't like it then okay, no problem.

Carissa was surprised, "Why I didn't I think about this?" She thought that's the end. There is no way out.

Noah held her from the shoulders and turned her around making her face him. He flicked her head lightly, making sure it did not hurt, "People with bird brains only know how to make a fuss. Don't think so hard, I am afraid you will be left with nothing". He was referring to her tiny brain. If she will continue to use it at this rate then the probability for the occurrence of this incident is high.

Carissa gritted her teeth and punched him with her elbow on his abdomen. He stepped back due to the intensity of the punch he has received now.

"Hey…" he shouted, "I am helping you and this is how you are going to repay me?" he felt betrayed.

"Yes. This is what you deserve for having a foul mouth." Carissa retorted back.

"Why have you started to get so violent? I think something serious must have happened to your brain". He again teased her and now he was getting on her nerves.

"WHAT?" Carissa shouted. He could say something this childish. It was unbelievable. "I should tell the people how childish you can be. I can't believe I just heard something like this". Carissa fumed.

He laughed, "No one is going to believe your words".

Yeah he was right. Given his image it was impossible that people would believe such a ridiculous thing. He sure has its own ways. Their sounds could be heard by the people outside. For the first time he appeared to be so humane. It was a great improvement, but he can be like this only with his wife.  He successfully pissed her off.

During the dinner,

"I have recovered pretty much, shall I start going to the office again?" she was asking for permission. If he would say no there is no way she can win against him and go.

"I am against this idea". He hasn't dealt with the other party yet. If she would go there right now it was the same like throwing a fresh piece of flesh in front of a lion. No, never. At any cost he does not want it to happen.

What was more surprising for Carissa was, her father did not make a single call to ask about her condition. He must have heard what happened to her in his own territory but he preferred to avoid the matter. This thing was hurting her to the core of her heart.

Her face turned gloomy. Noah thought it is because he denied her request, "Okay, you can go. But don't overwork yourself and you must be home at 5 PM at all cost". He gave her a curfew.

It is better to follow the curfew then staying at home all the time. She hasn't achieved anything according to her plan.

"Thank you". She said politely and bowed her head in gratitude. He shook his head, speechlessly. "But you have to pay me". He said in a hoarse voice and winked.

"Pay? What? How?" She asked while chewing on the piece of meat.

Noah groaned and his groan made her tremble. He took the fork and knife from her hand and literally threw it aside. He carried her in a bridal style and walked in urgency to the bedroom. The beast inside him was awakened and only she could calm it down.

After a stern exercise they slept with exhausting bodies. Deep at night his phone vibrated. He opened his sleepy eyes forcefully and first glanced at her. She was sleeping peacefully in his embrace. With the utmost care he placed her head on the pillow and went to the balcony to receive  the call.

"Speak". Noah said to the man on the other side while rubbing his eyes.

"Sir I am sorry to disturb you at this hour, but the matter was urgent. I have found the man". The man reported.

"Come to my office in the morning". He ordered and hung up. It is a time to put everything back to its place. Even though the past does not hold power anymore, in order to build a happy and successful life he needs to take this step.
