When Noah came back home, he found her laying on the sofa in the living room, the TV was playing a movie, but her mind was somewhere else. What she was thinking, she is the only one who knows. Looking at her, a handsome smile filled his face. He went near and whispered in her ear, "What are you doing?" He was so close that his hot breath was striking with her neck and ear.
But to his surprise, she did not get scared at all, still in the deep thought. If it was some other day he would have definitely received a punch from her.
"Is something wrong?" this time he asked seriously and loudly making her snap back to reality.
"Oh, you are home". She replied as nothing has happened and everything is normal.
He observed her carefully, but could not tell what was wrong. He sat with her, and kept on giving her suspicious looks. She felt uncomfortable under his intense observation, "what?" Carissa questioned him back.
"What are you thinking so deeply?"
Carissa was flustered by his sudden interrogation, "Nothing—Just office stuff". She stuttered.
He narrowed his eyes, "Are you sure?"
"Of course". She laughed awkwardly. She wanted him to tell her himself. If he was hiding the matter from her then there must be some reasons behind it. She believes in his judgement.
"Let's go outside for dinner. I am getting bored of staying at home". She suggested diverting his mind.
"Okay, let me change first". He agreed instantly.
He wore dress pants with a dress shirt followed by a coat. The weather was changing and it was almost spring but at night it was still cold.
He drove himself and took her to a very luxurious Italian restaurant. Noah was going to take her to a private room so she could eat comfortably. She was getting fed up with eating all the porridges, it was like a celebratory dinner on her recovery.
But maybe comfort is not for her. She found Mrs. Zak coming with a group of ladies. "What the hell. Why do such coincidences happen only with me?" the city is filled with many restaurants. Why do they have to meet here?
Mrs. Zak already saw her and made her way towards them. She gave a disdainful look to Carissa first, which Noah did not like at all. His body instantly started to radiate a murderous aura in result sending chills down their spines.
"Long time no see, Carissa. I think I will have to invite you to dinner". Mrs. Zak tried to appear as sweet as possible. Carissa wanted to give her an award for her acting.
"You don't have to go through trouble". She replied in the same tone.
"Noah you are also here". She ignored Carissa as she is a useless stuff in her eyes.
"Noah?" Noah took his own name in astonishment, "We don't have such a type of a relationship where you can call me by my name". He did not give her a face at all. The ladies with Mrs. Zak felt embarrassed for her friend.
Carissa wanted to laugh out aloud but she controlled herself by biting the inside of her cheek.
Mrs. Zak turned pale. He is almost half of her age now she has to be formal with him.
"My dad must be a friend of your husband but I am not his friend". He hit another nail in the coffin.
"I am sorry if you found me rude". She apologized with gritted teeth.
"Its good as long as you know. Now, please step aside". Carissa tugged the corner of his coat as he was getting overly rude. But in response he held her hand.
She was surprised with his sudden action. Her face turned red as she is not used to showing affection in front of others.
"Sure". Mrs. Zak stepped aside, giving them space, her face was pale and the ladies beside her were whispering continually.
"How did she get close to him?" A lady asked.
"She must have used some cheap tricks". Another one replied.
All of them were looking at Mrs. Zak with pitiful looks. She ignored them and made her way outside the restaurant.
As soon Carissa entered the room she laughed aloud. "You are really something". She spoke between her laughter.
He was happy to see her smiling. He found her mood down when he came from the office but now she was her own self.
They settled on the seats. "This applies to you too. I am your husband, and you're always calling me by my name. Show me some respect". He complained.
Her smile fades away and she was wiping the tears from the corner of her eyes. "Then what do you want me to call you?"
"Hmm… let me think about it". He scratched his chin.
Carissa once again laughed at his cute gesture, "What's there to think about. Once a Panther always a Panther." She looked in his deep eyes, "Panther".
He looked satisfied with her answer. "But you know, Panthers find their prey at night. What will you do if you will become my prey tonight?" He winked too.
Carissa choked on her saliva as she understood the meaning behind his words
"Let's order". She hurriedly grabbed a menu card.
This time it was his turn to laugh, "You cannot get away by changing a topic. Mind it".
She hid her face with a menu card. He was talking shamelessly in front of a waitress, whose ears were turning red. Being able to hear such a thing by such a handsome creature was a blessing.
