THE PLAN

"Are you okay?" Damian asks as we stroll inside the company premises after a quiet ride from our meeting with our lawyer and detectives.

Throughout the ride here, there was only one thing lingering in my head. That "what if". possibly Nelly being my sister. After all that she has done to me, not to mention that I never made her life in the castle any easier, how would we cope? Then again, I might be wrong about this. Maybe I am so pressed to solve this that I am beginning to become delusional.

"You've been awfully quiet, and you don't look well at all," Damian says again, but before I can say anything, we are greeted by the disgusting faces of Gracia and Nelly talking in our direction, Damian's p.a. striding behind them.

She wastes no time, huh?

"Hello, Ellie! So, where is my office because this useless dog has been taking me in circles ever since I got here? Why do you keep these incompetent fools around?" Gracia yells.

She doesn't even care where we are or the countless pairs of eyes looking at her.

"That person you call an incompetent fool, Gracia, was my father's P.A. for years. I doubt my father would keep an incompetent person for such a long time." I retort.

"Whatever. I am not Riccaford, you know. That's why I brought my own personal assistant." She says.

"Who?" I ask because I honestly don't want to imagine what I am guessing is really true.

"My daughter, Nelly, will work alongside me."

You know, if you laugh at a fool, then you automatically become a big fool. That's why I'm suppressing the tickles of chuckles from these two idiots. A COO, and her P.A.! Today is sure full of surprises, but then everything happens for a good course. Instead of laughing, I smile at them.

"Okay. There is an empty office on this floor. If they can't fit in there, you can squeeze Nelly into Damian's office in the meantime while we find a spacious space for them. Just make sure they are comfortable." I say this to Damian's p.a., and I can sense Damian's glare scouring my face.

He must be shocked by my decision, but on the other hand, this witch across me can't hide the thrill brought about by words. Her eyes haven't left Damian since I mentioned her sharing an office with him. I bet she is wetting her pants already. Go, girl! Drool for him all you can, but this man is a one-woman man, and he will be your downfall.

"Okay. I'll go find the space for them." The P.A. says as he leads their way.

Nelly stops at my face, perhaps to express her gratitude. She whispers.

"I do not doubt that we will have a smooth working relationship with you all, sissy."

I know it's not me she is referring to. She is elated by Damian. I grab her hand before she walks away, fixing our gazes.

"Don't get too excited, Nelly, because your space next to Damian is only temporary. And mind you, he is mine—my husband. You try anything shitty, and I will drag you out of this building by my claws!" I let go of her, and she smirked.

"Are you afraid that what happened before will happen again?" She challenges.

"Yes, but not because I have any doubts about my husband, but because I know what a cheap, desperate whore you are. I am afraid of what I will do if you dare try anything stupid. Damian is mine alone. Keep off him! That's a fair warning, Nelly!"

"You should probably tell your husband to always keep those sweet lips of his tucked inside his mouth, and those eyes, tell him not to look at me. Maybe then, just maybe, I won't feel the urge to run my fingers on those chiselled jaws of his. Sorry, but I can't promise more!" She smirks and walks out, swaying her hips like a seductive bitch on the hunt.

Shameless bitch!

I lead Damian to my office, his heavy strides exuding the anger she is feeling inside for being caught by surprise by my words. But I know how to handle him. I know how to soothe his anger as well as his ego. I'm not his wife for nothing, nor was I charmed by his betrothed for nothing.

"Office mate? Really, Ellie? What kind of game is this?" He fumes after slamming the door to my office shut with a loud bang.

I place my belongings on the table and turn to him.

"Calm down, will you?"

"Calm down? You expect me to calm down after that charade you just made out there? Tell me it's a joke!"

"I'm sorry, but it ain't. Nelly will be your officemate, but for a reason." I said, walking up to him.

"And what fucking reason would that be?" He queries, his eyes so cold with rage.

"Because you, hubby, will be the one to take her DNA samples." I spit.

"What?!" Damian explains. "And how do you suppose I do that?" He adds, looking like he is standing before a psycho.

His reactions are warranted, though.

"I don't know. Offer her some drinks, maybe? Then take the glass or whatever she will have used. That's all."

"Come on, Ellie! How will I even talk her into that? I have not spoken even a single word with that Nelly, and now all of a sudden I have to invite her for some drinks. She will definitely suspect something if she is as cunning as her mother." Damian states.

"She is a cheap whore and the biggest fool you'll ever encounter in this world. You will not even need to do anything. Nelly will bring herself to you and make everything as easy as trapping a dog with an empty plate. It will lick it." I state.

"Why do you sound so sure?" Damian asks.

And why wouldn't I be so sure, huh?
