OPERATION
It's seven at night, and I have never been this enthusiastically nervous. The inkling of being free from all these dilemmas is giving me goosebumps.
"Are you really sure we can trust that woman?" Damian asks as he pulls on his hoodie.
"We can. For some reasons, she was so different today. I don't know what striked her overnight. She looks kinda victimized, and afraid of her mother." I state.
"If Gracia is capable of all those things, then I doubt even her own daughter is safe around her." Damian responds.
"It's hard to believe that monsters like Gracia are living amongst us. We dined and whined with her for years. I knew she was capable of a lot of things, but I never thought it would be this much and horrible." I state.
"Don't worry, love. Tomorrow will be the end of her road, and a new dawn for us. You'll finally be able to live in peace."
"I can't wait for that moment I will look her in the eye and tell her that I already know about all her crimes and make her pay for everything."
"Tomorrow, love." Damian asserts.
The end of the long rough road is tomorrow. Justice will prevail. It's just a matter of hours, and all the darkness that has been shrouding us will be outshined by the light of our peaceful and happy lives.
"What happens to Nelly after all this? I mean, she has already admitted that she isn't your sister, but she is as much entangled in these crimes as her mother is. She might not have killed, but she covered up for her mother for years, and we ain't even certain if she didn't take part in any of the crimes. What becomes of her if by any chance she isn't guilty?" Damian asks, and it got me thinking.
The poor woman didn't choose this for herself. She didn't ask to have a monster for a mother. Gracia might have corrupted her mind, but I hope that deep down she has a motherly heart and that she kept her own daughter's hands clean. I hope she didn't get her involved in her cruel murders. If so, we can negotiate for Nelly since she was just being used by her mother. If otherwise, then I will not interfere with the law.
"We have to hear her side of the story first then we can decide. If she is as guilty as her mother, then there is nothing we can do. If she is not, then we will see." I say.
"Okay. Whatever you decide I will support you, love. I know you will make the right decision." Damian says, stroking my shoulders.
"I hope I will. I can't afford to add more to the list of my wrong decisions. I have made quite a lot."
"Sometimes, some wrong choices turn out to be the best in the end. Look at us. If we didn't make those wrong choices, our story would have been just one of the millions of normal arranged marriage stories. But we made ours so exceptional. But today the nation is itching to hear our story. I doubt even the heavens saw this coming."
"And we will tell it to the world. When all this is over." I say.
"Most definitely. I bet even our kids will fall in love with our love story. It makes me want to do the same thing our parents did and see what they will choose to do with their own love story."
Now, wait...
"No, Mr Riccaford Jr. I would rather we stay out of our kids' love lives and let them have the leeway to choose their own spouses." I argue.
"What if they make wrong choices. And what if our choices for them would turn out as best as our parents'?" He argues.
"What if there can never be a story like ours? And again, I don't think I can stand my child rebelling against me the way I did to my father. That would kill me. Besides, what if the spouses we chose for them don't turn out to be like us - strong-willed, and fated. Sorry hubby, but it's a no for me." I state, and he smiles.
"No need to get worked up, honey. The kids aren't even made yet. We got more time to ponder on this, and I think that will be our next project. Making babies. Ours or mine?"
His kids with me... I can't wait to see what his miniature would look like.
"Why are you staring? Don't you want to have a mini me or a mini you yet? I will help you take care of them including changing their diapers until they are all grown up."
"I hadn't thought of that, but Now I do. I want kids, and I want our son to be the exact you. I want him to be everything that you are." I say looking deep into his eyes.
"Well love, you'll have to describe everything that I am to me so that I can shape my sperm into your version of me."
Darn! Do what? I had to chuckle at his joke. I wish there was something as crazy as his joke though.
"You are funny, but okay. I will give you the description when next you have me sprawled beneath you, baby. Make sure you capture all the details well." I tease.
"I definitely will, baby. And we better get going now before I lose it and spread you on the bed right this minute." He says, and I smirk.
"Chill, tiger. There will be pretty of time for that. I hope you don't get tired of this body someday."
"Never, love. That will never happen. That's my solemn vow, Ellie. I will never get tired of you, forever and ever, come what may."
"And come what may, until eternity, I never will get tired of you. Eres mi vida, la parte más dulce de ella. Te amo mucho, mi amor." (You are my life, the sweetest part of it. I love you so much, my love.)
"Tu eres mi luz y Alegría, mi amor. Eres mi mundo. Te necesito en mi vida, babe. Soy nada sin ti." (You are my light and joy, my love. You are my world. I need you in my life, baby. I'm nothing without you.)
Mmh, I think we should shift to speaking Spanish and even teach our kids that. Estoy enamorada de este idioma.
"Shall we?" He asks, cutting my fantasy of us and our kids running around the house with kids chirping Spanish. My! That will be bliss.
Before I respond, a message alert pops up on my phone. It's the location pin from Nelly. I don't know where this is, but we have the aid of the police. We will scatter this nation down if need be to find it. And with the location, it's even much easier.
"She sent it." I show it to Damian.
