With the assistant gone, a stranger—a nurse—cared for me.
She didn't viewed that video so she didn't recognize me.

Seeing me alone, she was very sad."Where's your husband? Why isn't he here?"
Her gaze left me speechless.
How could Ethan care for me?
My scars were his doing.
But the day before discharge, Ethan appeared in my room.
He was frantic.

"Anna, are you okay? I'm late—the online videos are gone!"
I nodded calmly, sparing him no glance.
"Anna!You miscarried?"
I stayed silent. He grew desperate, grabbing my shoulders.

"Speak to me! Is it true? Did you really lose the baby?"
I frowned and gently removed his hand. "Yes."
He froze as though struck by lightning. I watched him, astonished. Did my words hold no trust in his heart? Pregnancy is not something one lies about—especially not when the loss was his fault.
He sank into a chair, tormented.
"Anna,the baby...this is my fault."
"Hit me, curse me, whatever makes you happy. I didn't know you were pregnant…"

His face showed regret. I looked at him softly."Will hitting or cursing bring our child back?"
Ethan stiffened.
The air grew heavy.
His eyes dropped, as if making a grave decision.
"Anna, I forgive you for casting the spell. We're even."
"Let's be like before,okay?"
Like before?
I nearly laughed.
I never cast a spell—what would he forgive?
The damage was done—where would we go back to?
And...
Glancing at the divorce papers in the drawer, I stayed silent.
Since he came, I'd tell him about the divorce now.
It would save another trip.
"Ethan, we—"
My words died on my lips as my phone rang with his custom ringtone. He snatched it up.
Of course, it was Clara.
Her soft voice carried clearly in the quiet room.
"Ethan, didn't you say you'd grab a cupcake? Where are you?"
My heart ached. Even visiting me was a side trip?
Ethan whispered,"Traffic's bad. You want some drink? I'll get you some."
"Sure, hurry! It's cold alone at night~"
"Wait for me."
He stood, striding to the door, tossing back,"I'll visit tomorrow."
I swallowed my words.
Fine, divorce could wait.
That night, I dreamed of us in happier days.
Before her, bofore the lies, deeply in love.
Ethan was swamped but made time for me.
Once, he was late for a date. I pouted, saying I'd stop liking him, find someone else.
He didn't get mad, just smiled, pinching my nose."I don't believe you."
His smile was too charming. My heart stirred.
I asked why he didn't believe me.
His handsome eyes softened, peeling shrimp for me.
"Because I trust you."
I woke with a start.
A sour ache hit my heart.
Yes, he used to trust me.
When did it change?
At 3 a.m., my phone buzzed—Ethan's message.
"I love you, Anna."
"Clara just returned .I'm helping her settle. Don't mind it. Once she's independent, I'll leave her be, and we'll get back to our life together, okay?"
I set the phone down, no reply.
Clara's a grown woman—what help does she need?
What kind of help ends in bed?
The next morning, I checked out, returned"home", and took only essentials.
Leaving the signed divorce papers on the table, I paused.
Then left two spell creatures.
After the miscarriage, my casting ability returned.

Since Ethan was convinced I'd spelled him ,I'd make it true—why suffer for nothing?
All set, I headed home.
When Ehan arrived at Anna's hospital room, all he found was an empty, cold bed.
After some frantic questioning, he learned she'd been discharged that very day.
"What a joke—she's out before she's even healed!" he muttered, slamming his foot on the accelerator as he sped home.
He vowed to give her a piece of his mind.
But once inside, there was no sign of her—only a divorce agreement, already signed, lying on the table.
