“Your real son was swapped out a long time ago.”
Sam lifted the tablet and pressed play.
Susan’s voice came through the speaker.

“While Eason goes on a business trip, quietly kill the real Lucas and make sure no trace is left behind.
“It’s freezing in winter. A kid dying on the roadside isn’t unusual…That way, Lucas won’t be around to inherit money from the Smith’s family…”
Her sharp, vicious tone was nothing like the fragile woman she’d been when she was weeping against the bedframe.
What followed after was the voice of the confinement center’s manager, Ms. Thompson. “Don’t worry. I edited the security footage so he won’t find out. I have asked the nanny, Amy, to bring in the fake Lucas through the back door before dawn.”
Susan turned pale. She sprang up from the bed and pointed at the butler, Sam, screaming.“You fabricate the voice recording. Eason, you set me up. That’s not my voice!”
John panicked too. He motioned for his relatives to rush in and grab the tablet.

“Where does this old man come from? How dare you spread rumors in my house? If you keep it up, I’ll beat you up!”
John barely took a step, two bodyguards had moved in and pinned his arms.
They were so strong that he could not budge. At that moment, the sound of hurried footsteps came through the door. Susan’s mother, Ava Blackwood, stormed in.
The moment she saw John restrained and Susan pale as a sheet, she lunged at me.

“Eason, you heartless scumbag. My daughter just gave birth, and you’re bullying her? You’re even letting some outsider accuse her? I’ll fight you for this!”
The bodyguards stood in front of me and blocked her. She missed her shot, so she turned to Sam and tried to snatch the tablet.
“Everything on that tablet is fake. My daughter is not that kind of person. Delete the recording right away.”
Sam dodged her. The audio on the tablet kept playing.
It clearly captured Susan ordering Ms. Thompson to feed Lucas “poisoned milk powder”.
“Don’t let him live too long. After some time has passed, when no one’s asking, just say he got an infection and died.
The manager stood on the side, fumbling to end the livestream. But she was stopped by Sam. “Ms. Thompson, don't rush to turn off the livestream. Let everyone see it. Let others see how you and Susan swap out Lucas and plan to kill him.”
The livestream chat flipped completely.
The comments calling me a “scumbag” vanished and were replaced with pure outrage. [Oh my goodness! Susan is the real monster. For the sake of money, she was going to freeze her son to death.]
[The president, Mr. Smith, was framed so badly. Susan’s whole family is nothing but liars.]
[Ms. Thompson is just as disgusting! She actually dares to feed a baby poisoned milk!]
[Call the police! They need to be jailed!]
Susan stared at the scrolling comments. She started trembling, with tears pouring down her face. “Not me… I’m innocent… it’s all fake.”
“Fake?” Sam spoke coldly and opened another video on the tablet.
It showed the back entrance of the confinement center. At three in the morning, Susan’s mom, Ava, handed a baby wrapped in a floral blanket to Amy. The nanny then carried the baby into the VIP suite.
That baby was the fake Lucas in the cradle.
Given the evidence, Ava opened her mouth, wanting to argue, but no words came out. The fierce attitude from earlier vanished. She didn’t dare to look at the tablet’s screen.
Sam could tell I was worried about Lucas and wanted to rush to the hospital.
He turned to me and said, “Eason, I had already made arrangements at the hospital. Three Rh-negative volunteers arrived half an hour ago. The doctor just updated me. The boy has done the blood transfusion, so he’s safe for now.
“You go and stay with Lucas. Leave this to me.”
I was about to turn around when Sam suddenly grabbed me and passed me a folded note.
After I walked out, I unfolded it. It read, “Amy has a daughter named Lucy Shuman. She gave birth three months ago at Westside Hospital. She now lives in Riverside Estate, Building 3, Unit 2. The fake Lucas is related to her. While you’re on your way to the hospital, please have your assistant look into it first.”
